This effort was started by Michael Angeles on this Drupal node: http://drupal.org/node/7862 and later taken up on a wiki at urlgreyhot. The wiki was built upon by the Drupal developer community. The process involved using some the discount usability methodology of creating personas, use cases and scenarios and testing use cases and scenarios against a set of usability heuristics. The starting point is the System.pdf|.html file which lists the first pass of heuristic evaluation.
